My Last Day in Udaipur.

An early morning phone call was made this morning. My fingers were dialing before I’d fully woken up.  Tom had spent the night on the street in Calcutta (something to do with being skint?!) and I was a little concerned for his safely.  Having found him to be well and in remarkably good spirits I headed up to the rooftop for my last Rajasthan sunrise and a bit of breakfast.

A fairly frantic morning was spent packing and shopping.  Between all the buying and bargaining, I managed to fit in a chai with the chili man (from Holi Festival). Mission accomplished! His conversation made very little sense but he did partake in a gleeful little jig which made me smile.

I was really sad to be leaving Udaipur, it really is a beautiful city.  I’d love to visit again one day but maybe not during Holi next time!

After a quick lunch of chai and samosa my taxi arrived to take me to the airport….

About fiona

My name is Fiona and I'm 28 years old. On the 21st October 2009 my sister and I quit our jobs, left our little town in Scotland and set off for an eight month adventure that would take us through India, Nepal, Thailand, Cambodia and Laos. My Family had hoped the trip would rid me of the urge to travel and expected me to settle down on my return. I had other ideas. In my mind the trip had been a great learning experience, a practice run. In February 2012 I’ll be excitedly returning to India where I’ll spend my first month as a solo traveler. May our paths be destined to cross...
